Planning Approval for Reddam House

Reddam Boarding House, a project we worked on for Inspired Education Group has been awarded planning! The design for the new building, which will house 100 pupils, has been inspired by both the architectural language of the existing site and the surrounding forest context.

Reflecting the existing Victorian schoolhouses on site, the material palette will reference the red brick, stone, and wood found across the estate – but with a Scandinavian influence.

A key focus in our design was the site’s protected treescape, particularly a 22m tall Atlas Cedar Tree, which will provide a focal point on the western façade of the building. The new boarding house will bring the outside in: to protect the roots of the ancient Cedar, we have designed a raised ground floor and a lifted entrance.
