With a strong commitment to social and environmental sustainability, he excels at uniting interdisciplinary teams and fostering collaborative, professional relationships with clients and project partners.
Aksel serves as contract lead and primary client liaison, often with project management responsibilities. He is currently working on the Grenseveien 107 project—a 15,000 m² commercial high-rise in central Oslo. He ensures the team meets Haptic’s high standards while actively involving the client throughout the process, working toward a shared goal of delivering the highest quality outcome.
Since joining Haptic Architects in 2018, Aksel has led the Oslo office as Chief Operating Officer and Associate Director. In his role as COO, he works closely with the broader leadership team across the practice to ensure the successful implementation of Haptic’s strategic vision and long-term objectives.
Among others, Aksel has been involved in the masterplan and development of Oslo Airport City, emphasising on strategic programming creating urban densification. He has also worked on several residential and hospitality projects, including Akersveien and OAC Hotel.
Before joining Haptic, Aksel worked 10 years at Asplan Viak as a Senior Architect and Project Manager, working on projects across education (schools and research facilities), sports (swimming complexes), both private and public housing, as well as cultural, healthcare-related developments.
A graduate from The Oslo School of Architecture (AHO) and ETSAB, Universitat Politecnica de Barcelona Aksel brings international experience from Spain and Brazil.
