Johan joined Haptic’s Oslo studio in 2019. Johan specialises in rehabilitation and transformation, believing that developments prioritizing reuse, repurpose, and respect for existing sites contribute to a more aesthetically engaging experience, historical continuity, and, most importantly, sustainable outcomes. His expertise lie in balancing these complex factors, as demonstrated in his work over the past five years on one of Oslo’s largest and most significant transformation projects: New Government Headquarters. His work exemplifies an impressive balance between practical needs and bold design, showcasing careful attention to detail throughout every phase of the design process.

As an Associate, Johan has successfully led several of the studio’s key projects, including the New Government Headquarters and Athens International Airport, as a senior architect. His contributions to various competitions design, including offices, hotels, and student housing facilities, reflect his dedication to advancing innovative design.

Before joining Haptic, he gained extensive knowledge in several recognised offices, including Henning Larsen Architects (DK), Telje Torp Aasen (NO), and Avinor (NO), spanning from tiny living to large-scale projects. Johan has also been a lecturer of reuse for Architecture and Design at Lund University, Sweden. He is also very engaged in creating a positive working environment within the practice and has served as an employee representative for the last couple of years.
