Tomas is the founding director of Haptic Architects and plays a strategic role across the practice, leading major international projects from both the London and Oslo offices. His approach to architecture is rooted in a belief that good design should be inclusive, engaging, and connected to its surroundings. He cares deeply about how buildings meet the ground and how people experience space, with a particular focus on creating welcoming, generous places that feel part of their context.

With over 25 years of experience, Tomas has led a wide range of large and complex projects, from new cities and airports to civic buildings and embassies. He has directed key projects including Delhi Noida International Airport, Istanbul Grand Airport, Oslo Airport City, and the new Norwegian Government Headquarters – one of Norway’s largest construction projects. He also oversees Haptic Green, the studio’s research arm focused on sustainability and the creative reuse of existing buildings.

Tomas brings a Scandinavian mindset to his work – valuing fairness, public access to space, and a strong relationship with nature. He has a highly collaborative way of working and is known for clearly communicating ideas to clients, communities, and wider teams.

Outside of practice, Tomas has taught at the Bartlett, served on design review panels for Islington and Ebbsfleet, and is closely involved in urban discussions through Oslo Urban Week and the Oslo Metropolitan Area. He believes in making people happy through thoughtful, intelligent, and sustainable design.
