François-Xavier Pons
Sivil Arkitekt
francois@hapticarchitects.comFrançois joined Haptic’s Oslo office in 2022. As an architect, he focuses on public participation and community engagement in both architecture and urban development. He is skilled at understanding people’s needs and guiding them toward a more sustainable future through the shared use of space and co-use of resources.
François is an experienced architect with the ability to lead and follow a project through all design stages and across different scales. Recently, he has been leading the public participation process for the Tårnkvartalet project—an innovative mixed-use cultural and educational building in Bærum, Norway. The project includes a secondary school, a multi-purpose hall, and public facilities such as a cultural venue, black box theatre, public library, health centre, workshops, and a café.
François is currently working as a project architect on Grenseveien 107, a city regeneration project in Oslo. The development features a multi-use building with offices, a library, café, and restaurant. His main focus has been to transform an introverted, fragmented, and complex part of the city into a calm and easily legible urban environment. This has been achieved by introducing new mobility patterns and activating the ground floor to foster maximum interaction between the building and the surrounding public space.
Over the years, François has developed a growing interest and competence in urbanism and city development. To strengthen this expertise, has been furthering his education in urban planning at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO).
