Sherief joined Haptic’s London team in 2020. His work and interests in architecture are shaped by his belief that the architect’s role should promote empathy between people and place, creating memorable experiences. Aligned with Haptic’s approach to create places that make people happy, Sherief also believes that architecture should embody a purity of form, material and light.

Beginning his architectural education at Central Saint Martins in London, Sherief completed his masters’ studies at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark, before returning back to London to obtain his professional diploma. Sherief has benefitted from studying and working abroad and despite the recent turn of international separatism, believes our future benefits from close contact with those we are working with and for.

At Haptic, Sherief has worked on the Fjordarium; a project that celebrates Oslo’s unique marine ecology and coastal edge and the delivery of Delhi Noida International Airport in India. He has been part of competition winning teams on cultural and mixed-use projects in London and Norway. Sherief is also an architecture tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture on the MEng Architecture and Engineering programme.

Before joining Haptic, Sherief worked for Bjarke Ingels Group in Copenhagen and Haverstock in London, where he gained project experience working at a range of different scales. Aside from office experience, his freelance endeavours have led him to gain experience in exhibition design and religious buildings.
