sherief@hapticarchitects.comSherief joined Haptic’s London office in 2020, after completing his masters in Denmark. His work and interests in architecture are shaped by his belief that the architect’s role should always seek to promote a sense of empathy between people and place, creating memorable experiences. Sherief believes good design should be both carefully considered and daringly impactful. Aligned with Haptic’s approach to create places that make people happy, Sherief also believes that architecture should embody a purity of form, material and light.
Sherief has worked as project architect across several projects within the office including Eveline Lowe Housing Estate – a scheme that provides 43 HAPPI compliant socially rented homes in the London Borough of Southwark, Sutton College – a complete retrofit of a listed historic fire station on Sutton’s High Street into a vibrant centre for adult learning and more recently, Reddam House – a new boarding house for a grade II* listed school in Berkshire. Other projects include a Fjordarium in Oslo and Noida International Airport as well as multiple key projects during competition stages.
Building upon his experiences working in the UK and Europe, Sherief takes an active role in promoting Haptic’s use of innovative materials and detailing to create designs that are visually striking and transform ordinary elements into refined, technically high-performing features. Sherief actively participates in Haptic’s community engagement initiatives, coordinating the office’s work experience program and overseeing Haptic’s involvement in Open City’s Young City Makers initiative. This program facilitates partnerships between primary schools and architectural firms, providing students with practical education on the built environment.
Sherief has also tutored architecture at various different schools including the Bartlett School of Architecture on the MEng Architecture and Engineering programme, and Central Saint Martins on the BA Architecture course.
