Haptic Architects were invited to prepare a masterplan for a future resort in CoCo Bay, situated on the eastern coastline of Vietnam, just south of Da Nang. The 1 million m2 mixed use resort will cater for holiday makers, business and local residents, providing 13,000 keys.
The design is influenced by vernacular Vietnamese architecture, including the tightly knit city centres of Da Nang and Hoi An and the beautiful Vietnamese landscape.
The masterplan is organised around 4 primary public spaces; the riverfront and lake, a central piazza, conference square and tropical gardens. The site is split into 5 districts, each with its own unique identity. The city plan prioritises walking and cycling with vehicles to the periphery. Phase 1 of the masterplan is currently underway.
