Hotel inspired by the Norwegian landscape
BLU Hotel is a 250-room conference-hotel, forming part of the new Flesland Airport City development in Norway. It has a distinct visual identity, distinguishing it from the existing airport terminal to the east, and the proposed business park to the north.
The organic form is wrapped in a dense, double-skin timber facade that lifts up at key points to form entrances and exits. During the day, the facade seems solid but at night it appears transformed, with a gentle glow as light passes freely through the slender timber elements.
