Nikki Butenschøn is a Director and co-founder of Haptic Architects. His specialism is interior architecture. Nikki creates conceptual, unpretentious and tailor-made projects. His aim is to listen to his clients’ wishes and fulfil them with thoughtful interpretation. Nikki is a master of creating fresh spaces which are a modern take on Scandinavian style.

Nikki oversees Haptic Design – with focus on interiors and smaller scale projects – offering clients a full range of design services. Nikki won the 2019 Designers Saturday Award for his work for Restaurant Haakon. Nikki previously designed and delivered the interiors of a 300-room conference hotel ‘Quality Hotel Expo’ described by Visit Norway as a project which ‘set a new standard for creating inspiring environments’. He has also designed a series of penthouse apartments at Television Centre, as well as a new office space for consultancy Arkwright.  Nikki is currently working on a number of office projects and one-off houses for private clients throughout Norway.

Nikki studied interior architecture at the Chelsea College of Art and Design and architecture at the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen and University of Sydney, Australia. He also studied furniture design at the Oslo Academy of Art. Nikki has taught at the Oslo Institute of Design.
