Tom is an award-winning Architect and designer with over a decade of project experience.  He has consciously worked, for much of his career, in the public and charity sectors, on projects ranging from housing and schools to community centres and parks.  As such, Tom has experienced the transformative benefits that architecture can offer individuals and communities, and the types of hurdles that must be overcome to achieve the most successful of outcomes.

Tom took an unusual path to becoming a registered Architect. A non-Architectural degree was followed by a number of years working in Practice whilst studying part-time, before completing a Masters at the Royal College of Art. This has contributed to his keen interest in widening access to the discipline for people from more varied backgrounds, including currently volunteering for charities that hold the same values.

Tom’s research interests centre on the history and future of public housing, both in Britain and abroad, and his research into modes of living in Britain and the British Housing Market has been published and presented in various forums in recent years.
