Team Urbis win Oslo Government Headquarters!
Team Urbis, led by Nordic – Office of Architecture assisted by Haptic Architects, have won the competition for the new Government Headquarters in Oslo, with a proposal named Adapt.
Adapt was shortlisted as one of two winning schemes in a comprehensive design competition before the summer. Since then, both teams have undertaken extensive negotiations with the client body, Statsbygg - the Norwegian Directorate of Public Construction and Property. This week, the contract was awarded to Adapt and Team Urbis. Statsbygg announced that “Adapt was a clear winner and the highest ranked project by the jury. Team Urbis also scored highest with regards to method statement and key personnel."
Dignified, inviting, friendly and timeless
The Government Headquarter will be the centre for decision making in Norway, an efficient, well-functioning, compact and attractive work space. At the same time, it should feel like a natural extension of the city – a place where its citizens want to spend time, with new squares, parks, cafés and a visitor centre.
Team Urbis consists of Nordic – Office of Architecture, with Haptic Architects, in collaboration with COWI, Aas-Jacobsen, Ing Per Rasmussen, Rambøll, SLA, Bjørbekk & Lindheim, and sub consultants Scenario, NIKU, DIFK and Norsam.
