Norway's Green Party Election Stand
Haptic have completed a low budget election stand for Norway’s Green Party located in Karl Johan, Oslo’s high street. The Election Stand typology of an introverted box, plastered with stickers and propaganda is flipped on its head.
Rather than creating a soulless unit in the city centre, Haptic have created an inviting, permeable stand that can have human interaction. The design approach was to create a more sculptural piece, to literally think outside the box.
The final design comprises a stylized forest floor, made up of a triangulated structure, with a forest of thin trunks penetrating the “sky” – an opaque acrylic sheet, illuminated from above. Potential voters can write comments on green paper leaves, shaped like the party’s logo and hang them on the small branches. The forest will in this way grow and grow, eventually becoming a lush vegetation of ideas, dreams, hopes and exhortations for the future.
