Haptic are working up proposals for an architectural folly, in the seaside town of Ramsgate. It is inspired by the form of a simple bird house, set within the trees and making reference to the local population of Rose-ringed parakeets.
Conceived as an open structure, the folly suggests enclosure and allows the freedom to move around, through or inhabit the structure. From afar, the slim metal framework, will blend with into the background of the surrounding buildings, revealing itself as you move closer. The folly incorporates two coloured bars, forming an arrow head and suggesting the route to the sea.
