Redevelopment of Regjeringskvartalet

The Government Headquarters will be the centre for decision making in Norway. An efficient, well-functioning, compact and attractive work space, that is also a natural extension of the city – a place where its citizens want to spend time, with new squares, parks, cafés and a visitor centre.

The scheme comprises 7 buildings with a total of 4,500 workspaces. The jury found "the relationship between the office buildings and the streets and squares to be particularly successful, creating a varied and friendly street scene." Building A, which is formed to ensure sunlight in the park, whilst reducing downdraft winds, was praised by the jury for its “unifying and contemporary expression.”

Team Urbis consists of Nordic – Office of Architecture, with Haptic Architects, in collaboration with COWI, Aas-Jacobsen, Ing Per Rasmussen, Rambøll, SLA, Bjørbekk & Lindheim and sub consultants Scenario, NIKU, DIFK and Norsam.
