Private Residence in the New Forest
Early 3d studies
A contemporary take on a 'barn-style' extension, this proposal respects the form of the original dwelling, whilst providing a contrasting veil over the new volume.
The scheme re-integrates the house with the landscape, dramatically cutting into the land, with the first floor storey floating above and separated by a glass enclosure at ground level. This immediate connection to the garden and new courtyard space is juxtaposed by a fully glazed open end to the southern side, incorporating a new terrace to enjoy views of the hillside.
The new structure is to be pre-fabricated in Kebony, a sustainably sourced, low maintenance and highly durable timber.
